Precision Gyroscope

  • A common tool for investigating the conservation of angular momentum and other gyroscope elated phenomena, such as gyroscopic stabilisation, inertial guiding, gyrocompass, and the precession principle. consists of a heavy metal roller disc that is dynamically balanced, placed on cone bearings for low friction motion, and borne on a plastic gimbal ring. For winding a thread to spin the rotor, the shaft features a hole along the side of the rotor disc. For learning the idea of rolling or pitching, this readily detachable unit may be set either on a cradle mounted on a basic plain base or on a rocking platform. The outside of the shaft seat contains a hook that may be used to suspend washers for loading purposes while studying the precession. complete with winding supplied cable, an S-shaped hook, and a set of loading washers.
